living rooms inspiration 2010 :)

some living rooms I find very inspirative…in color, pattern or furniture line
hope you’ll enjoy them too :)

Zesty yellow living room

the loveliest nursery…

I’m always hard to make a good post title :(
yes, the loveliest nursery…so eclectic and whimsical …it speaks right to my heart. think I love every inch of that room…color palette, materials, finishes, fabrics, furniture…oh my
take a look…is it unusual for a nursery, yet so perfectly suitable?

great ideas for shelves..via sunset

1.Floating book shelves
Typical store-bought floating shelves are suitable only for displaying objects, as they have a weight capacity of 10 or so pounds. This way, situation is changed with the strong support. Wood trim hides the brackets supporting the shelves, creating an elegant appearance reinforced by the larger display shelf at the bottom.1shelves-invisible-m-l

home tour..dana hughes

one of my favorite home tours… :)
this home belongs to Dana Hughes, Australian based interior designer and author of  famous and enormously  inspirative Yellowtrace blog.  You can see her portfolio here

dana1look how many different things she managed to put together. it looks cohesive and pleasant to the eyes. Here’s what she said for Apartment therapy about her style:

picture rail

Here’s one great idea for renters or people like me – who loves changing things periodically. If you don’t know the best way to compose photos and pictures, this is perfect solution…

winter idea.. white living room

Do you think white is boring? Ok, I know everyone has a different taste, but let me show you how white can be interesting, especially during winter. Yes, it is the perfect color for summer, to cool it down…but in wintertime, we can feel like in the snow, yet so warm and cozy. First, some examples of warmer white living rooms, adding cream, pale yellow or light brown. Don’t forget to add texture when decorating in white – different materials and structures.

shutters and a sneak peak into montenegro

Some of you know how much I love windows, especially one with shutters. I have a huge collection of window photos, arts and prints. For me it represents open heart and open mind, look into the future, beyond boundaries. As a counterbalance, I’m attracted to old, vintage windows…and shutters. Photo below was taken in Istra – Croatia.

Easy peasy DIY idea…

Here’s one late night post… The 45 week of this year is ahead of us, which means we’re so close to Holidays, yipeee. It’s never too early to start decorating for Holidays, do you agree?
So, this time I want to show you beautiful, romantic yet so easy decor idea of my friend Lenka, who writes Krpice i Konci blog. Lenka is multitalented and full of inspiration. I wrote about her  here and here.

passion finds… bedside tables

Here are some examples that I think are interesting. Some of them are more original than the others, but all of them are functional.
The thing is – I like them…that’s what this post is all about :)

passion finds.. good mood factory

Hello my friends. It’s unusually hot and sunny day here in Herceg Novi for this time of year. The sea looks like someone poured hundred of brilliants on its surface, the view is magical let me tell ya.
The little one is asleep, so I have time for a post. While flipping through DECO my place, an unlimited source of inspiration from real homes…one album caught my attention. To be honest, it’s not the best ever, or unbelievably different, but it is warm, cozy, colorful and passionate.

3 in 1 room

Hello again, my dearest readers! How you're doing? I've been very busy lately, so I wasn't around my or any other blog...sigh. Have a lot to catch up.

perfect home no.3 ** savršen dom br.3 fabulous trullo

Have you heard about trullo? It is house with conical roofing, traditional for south-east Italy and may be found in towns Alberobello, Locorotondo, Fasano, Cisternino, Martina Franca and Ceglie Messapica. Trulli were generally constructed as storehouses, built without any cement. This style of construction is also prevalent in the surrounding countryside where most of the fields are separated by dry-stone walls (the same style of construction can be seen in my country too...and I am fascinated by its durability)
In Alberobello atop a trullo's cone there is normally a pinnacle, that may be one of many designs, chosen for symbolism. Additionally, the cone itself may have a symbol painted on it...which may include planetary symbols, the mallocchio (evil eye), the cross, a heart, a star ....

passion finds.. Adore Home magazine

Yes, I know I'm not the first to tell you about the new online inspirative magazine Adore... but I wanted to have a review at least for myself. And I'm sure you won't mind to see these photos again. In Australia spring is on the way, and that's what I especially love about this magazine issue...gives me that fresh feeling when I just want to smile.
Founded and created by designer Lony Parker, Adore Home invites you into inspirational homes, looks at the latest products on the market and whisks you away to gorgeous holiday destinations.

balkan breeze ... soulful grey

Hello everybody...it's time for new Balkan breeze ...and this time I've decided to feature one masculine and very stylish apartment I fell inlove with several months ago. This is apartment in Belgrade, located in area I am personaly attached to - Konjarnik...because I used to live there for several years. It was the best time ever.
Anyway, the apartment we're touring today belongs to young and successful graphic and industrial designer, so he implemented all of his knowledge about the form, colours and proportions in it.

passion finds.. dressing table

One of PassionDecor readers asked me if I could find some inspirational photos of makeup and dressing table. The thing is, she asked me long time ago on PD facebook page...ang I just saw that yesterday..silly me. Please guys...whatever you want to ask me, write me an email...I'll be more than happy to help in any way.
Here are some photos I found inspirative and beautiful.

Opt for narrow console table with drawers, and you can never go wrong, especially in small space.

home tour.. country home in Portugal

I found this rustic beauty on Ognjište, Croatian interior design blog... with very few words, but gorgeous photos and inspiration. Ognjište means inglenook, which perfectly describes the photos you can find visiting this blog. Enjoy this tour, I bet it will make you breathless...and don't forget to hop on Ognjište

home tour.. vintage cottage

You know when reading a good book written long long time ago, or just having that vintage feeling...there's always a mansion or castle in it, with gorgeous gardens and landscaping? And where is a mansion, there is at least one guest cottage.
That was my first thought after seeing this lovely, comfy and fresh little cottage...spotted on House of Turquoise
Photographed by Janis Nicolay and featured in Style at Home magazine, this cottage was designed by Colleen Sawatsky, owner of Vintage Home.

Don't you love the art above the sofa? adorable...

Now, let's make the first tour...around this beautiful, heartful and lovely apartment in Serbia
This home belongs to Tanja (read Tanya), dear blogger friend...very smart and sharp woman, with good sense of style and eye for details. She was very kind, allowing me to feature her home on PassionDecor.
Thank you Tanja, very much!
Well, must admit I have jitters...so this time it's hard to find the words. But, (saved by the bell) Tanja wrote something about her home...so let's read it after the jump

zesty beach home...

OMG... I love green...every shade of green I think. When recieved newsletter from RoomRemix blog, I just could not lift my jaw up after seeing this modernist beach house.
What a gorgeous palette, don't you think? Lime green, white and brown...with dashes of hot orange... so timeless if you ask me. So prefect for every season, it has the perfect balance of warm and cold colours (even if I know Maria says colours can't be desribed as warm or cold and we should look them in a context)

This home is work of interior designer Christina Murphy

passion finds.. Camerich furniture

How beautiful.... New showroom in Belgrade of Camerich brand, high quality furniture reflecting best designed furniture ever... I love it! here are some photos to enjoy it's sophisticated line...

monday home tour ... Jan Eleni apartment

This Monday is dedicated to one absolutely fantastic, interesting, different and eclectic apartment...owned by New York interior decorator, Jan Eleni Lemonedes from Jan Eleni inc. Jan started her career with small used furniture shop, where she'd put anything lovable and interesting...and DIY jobs are not unusual for her...
Some people said she become famous over night...but it's not true...she worked very hard for years...and it's obvious how talented she is. I love her taste...absolutely exquisite! Enjoy the photos of  her gorgeous home...

It's not time to go inside yet...

Balcony, terrace, patio...I'm not ready to give it all up...days are sunny, warm and gorgeously windy (does that expression exists?)
September is perfect for lounging outside among flowers and big plants. As not many people can enjoy the real garden and backyard...I dedicate this post to all of you with a balcony... which can be like a small garden. With cress wriggling out of the pots ... ivy climbing the walls and a space-saving furnishings... it gives many beautiful morning or evening hours, depending on how the sun falls. Here is some inspiration...

passion finds.. log home in Spain

Inspired by autumn I decided to show you this modern, warm and cozy wooden home located in Spanish mountains. This is definitely something I want to have in my inspirational folder. Would it be nice to have a wooden home like this, even much smaller...somewhere in the mountains...spending there week or two during winter?

design style... Africa

It's not easy to talk about african interior style, because it's meshup of different cultures of Middle East, Arabian,Portugal,Spain,France and England... In center of all these cultural influences is african tribal tradition, with it's beautiful simbols and elements celebrating the Earth, animals and overall life.
I can feel the rythm in every piece made by African origins.

monday home tour..Beth Armijo's apartment

Today, we're touring the home of Beth Armijo, very talented designer and owner of Armijo Design Group, who describes her work as fresh, classic and exquisite. Beth's lovely and colourful apartment was featured in Better Homes and Gardens online magazine in a begining of 2009, when I saved it in my inspirational folder.

I love her home because it's quite feminine and sophisticated in accessories, and again masculine in some elements like concrete pole in the living room, oversized lamp or the mirror in the dining room. I don't know if she lives there alone or with a partner, but this apartment nicely shows how to implement both feminine and masculine and still having a great design.

wish I had a room like this...

do you know what pinterest is?..

Hello everybody :)
I've noticed one person stopped following me these days..can't describe how sad I am about that. It's because I'm not posting often enough. In the future,I'll try my best to find some spare time to write good posts more often.
I want to thank you for being patience and believer...hoping you know how much it means to me.

perfect home ** savršen dom No1

I apologize to you,my dearest readers and visitors, for non posting for days... :(
I have problems with my pc, and had problems with my internet connection-I was cut out for too long if you ask me. Internet connection is established now, but my pc is acting like the old man with too many health problems. It may take years before I buy a new one, although buying new pc would be cheaper than fixing problems every month. I cannont start my Illustator (and I almost can't live without it),and I can not install a new version - my pc doesn't alowe it. Same thing happend with Skype (I'm going crazy without it as my sisters live abroad and skype is the only way to keep in touch with them regularly)...
Untill I buy a new computer (wishing being able to buy The Mac), I hope you'll forgive me for periodical absence; now you know who's to blame :)

Because it's monday,it's time for house tour. I've prepared planty of materials, including a new category soon featuring home tours in my area :) Still thinking how to name the category and how often to post it. Have ideas?please share :D

DIY ... mantel but no fireplace

Do you have any spare space on the wall? I bet you do.
Well, why don't use a mantel shelf as a beautiful focal point you can redecorate every now and then? there's no reason not to...because you don't have to have a fireplace. I found you a close up of Erin's gorgeous foyer update.

how to use old drawers...

Hello my friends...
I thought you would like this idea of using drawers for other purposes beside the usual. The best part is the very low cost. For example,to make this night stand/extra storage all you need is four legs in any material, paint and if you want some drawer handles

vintage pottery plus my presents...

Almost a month ago I got a very special present from my mother-in-law. I was so thrilled, because it came so sudden and without any special reason...which makes it even greater. I felt like she read my posts about pottery and Eddie Ross's flea market finds
It is a set of vintage hundred-years-old plates carried in my husband's family. They are so beautiful, and very heavy, litterarly :)

my projects..eclectic wall clock

Finally I have permission to show you clock made of music record...and how it looks finished. Those who are following me from the start, read the post where I showed the sneak peak of my little and sweet project

When my father started renovating our family house, there were lots of things undiscovered, collecting dust. Among them were some old records which no one will ever listen. Don't worry,I saved a few of them worth saving.
We decided that nobody will need this record of Paloma Blanca (have YOU ever heard of them?)...and since my sister's room was in progress I suggested to make a wall clock out of it..as a present.
I had in mind from the start to put some Japanese inspired motif, as I know how much she loves the style.
Unfortunately, my father and his wife decided to decorate her room in totally different direction (while she was away)...so at least she has something she can carry with herself...

birch trees in your bedroom...how lovely...

Do you people love transformations? before and after pictures? I bet you do...and I'm sorry this post isn't going to be about transformation I made :(
Thank God I am subscribed to YoungHouseLove, because I love their Reader Redesign... I discovered some of the most beautiful blogs out there, thanks to Youngsters
Today brand new discover for me is Fresh Crush, wonderful inspirational blog, where I found very smart DIY ideas. You should check it out...
The reason I am writing this post is the way Jen decorated nursery. Maybe you already know, I love drawings on the wall (like this one as inspiration for my bedroom)...something like vinyl decals but more personal and home made.
So,this time I was inspired with Jen's birch tree wall mural

designboard... Zara home II

Since I've discovered Zara Home collection..I am SO happy...and I made a few designboards with some of my favorite products... Couple of days ago you could see these two and now I present you my modest board of bathroom products with Benjamin Moore paint sample
