big ideas for small spaces

Paint at least a stripe in chalkboard paint. It looks interesting, doesn’t take up any space and you can always use it for recipes (like in the example), shopping or to do lists, and for occupying your kids in time of need…

tiny room for two little girls

Amazing interior design and storage solution by Tina Kurpez / Karas studio as always. Tina has such a good sense of space complemented with great design eye. That’s just my subjective thinking… blink blink.
She transformed this tiny room in a special kingdom for two little girls, with tons of storage and still enough room to play/draw/study. Truly a room they can grow into. Love the dark walls as a background for fresh green furniture. I would describe this room as vivid, inspiring, happy and fresh. foto: Berislava Picek / Cropix

{love this space} tiny kitchen nook

Sometimes some tiny spaces can turn out to be everyone’s favourite place in the house. Custom built storage bench and a table provide comfort for breakfast, coffee break or kids’ activity and studying.

colourful rented apartment for family

Family living and bright colours are the main focus in this rental apartment. The strong colour palette kicks you right as you enter the apartment. Green, yellow, pink and blue may seem like an overwhelming colour choice for many, but the owner have combined the colors, so it all still works quite stylish. Whole space feels energized, youthful and happy. I dig the entrance, dining corner in the kitchen and small bedroom in red. If you want your space to be modern and affordable, this is the style you should be going for.

{love this space} happy family space

I’m totally crazy about this place! Absolutely perfect composition of colors, shapes and textures. This open space in coastal home in Croatia is work of two famous creative minds – academic painter Saša Šekoranja and interior designer Dean Franić. I must add it’s like they get into people’s heads to understand their wants and needs – they create so different and versatile interiors. I would love to learn from designers like them.17108_299855336806511_881286313_n

artistic home

Some photos of this home you’ve surely seen on the web, and you’re probably amazed by the beauty of the every inch of it. Some people have a talent to turn everything ordinary into extraordinary, beautiful, artistic and breathtaking. The mix of clean lines and cluttered corners is in perfect balance. Everyday objects are perceived like art itself, and the result is home easy to live in and interesting to look at.

bohemian bright home

What to say I haven’t said before? Don’t want to repeat myself. Everyone knows my fondness for quirky interiors, bursting with colour and personality. you just have to be that person to pull this bohemian look out. I wish I could be this brave…

modern family apartment in Warsaw ** moderan porodični stan u Varšavi

Great ideas, overall functionality, well used space, kid-friendly environment, positive vibrations with loads of vibrant colours...that's what I see in this Poland apartment. Measures approx 65sqm but it seems like a hundred. I bet my kids would be enormously happy in this place. And nothing would make me happy more :)

{stylish small} experimenting with design ideas ** experimentisanje sa idejama

This 50m2 apartment belongs to talented Mette Helena where she lives with her daughter. Personally, I don't think it's challenging for two to  live in apartment that big (as we're family of four living in much smaller space), but I too know how many stuff an artist can have - too many according to my husband. So, I agree - it is a challenge to provide enough storage for all your belongings without a proper home office, as well creating everything to look good and inviting.

Small apartments are intimate, sweet and lovely. Always at least A BIT chalenging to decorate. When designed to suite your needs the best - it's the perfect place for living...

{weekend project} entryway makeover ** {uradi sam} preuredi predsoblje

Make a statement in your hallway/entryway with a stencil or photo projector. Birch tree forest is my favourite motif, with installed hooks to simulate branches. Simple wooden bench with colourful cushions is a stylish necessity, providing much needed functionality and storage.

{e-design} family friendly small apartment ** mali stan prilagođen mladoj porodici

I was hired to help organize a 48m2 small apartment. Kitchen, dining area and living room are in one space, with one short interior wall between the kitchen and dining area. Tiny area should cover several diferent functions. Small working spot with a computer had to be included in the living room, and finding the way to organize large amount of books, magazines and plenty of family memories. The space had to be safe and functional for a little girl with enough toy storage. Client wanted natural pastel colours and romantic shabby cottage style. ** Pozvana sam da pomognem u boljoj organizaciji malog stana od 48m2 u potkrovlju. Kuhinja, trpezarijski dio i dnevna soba čine jednu cjelinu, a granicu kuhinje i ostatka dnevnog prostora čini pregradni zid visine 1m.
