Balkan breeze ... loft designed by Tina Kurpez

For today's Balkan breeze I've found lovely, tiny but completely functional loft in Zagreb, Croatia. This loft is designed by interior designer Tina Kurpez, from Karas studio, who finds professionally challenging and inspirational creating cozy, modern and functional home besides the slopes.

The owners of the loft are using it just occasionally as they live in Geneva, so the main concept was to create a space good for renting, too. Designer Tina was able to connect the bedroom with rest of the apartment, which she doesn't usually recommend. She was thinking to put some interesting room divider, but realized it's not really necessary plus the layout is perfect for one person. The renters are delighted by loft organization, open style living and overall connection.

The biggest challenge was to decoratively implement the chimney pole in the loft center as there should be the focal point. Designer decided after short reflection it should be turned into loft's benefit, so it's the closet space now, big enough to store everything needed. It was a great decision as it would be a problem creating storage space with all slopes in the apartment. Closet doors looks like the wall, being almost invisible.

It is space saving solution, yet it has hidden everything what could ruin the neatness of the space. The kitchen without upper cabinets is quite low but spacious, looking to the forest nearby, whish is the real pleasure to look at while preparing meals...especially breakfast or dinner and enjoying sunrise or sunset. It's those little things that makes us happy and our home cozy and desirable place for living.

What do you think about this tour? I'm quite curious. It's very lovely and inspiring in my opinion...perfect for one, or a couple :)
