extreme home makeover… ** extremno preuređenje

One of the very few shows I like to watch on TV is the reality show similar to Extreme Home Makeover. It’s Serbian show “Radna akcija” with main aim to help people and families in need for functional, proper home. Those people usually live in extremely bad conditions, in cold homes, with mold or broken walls and ceilings, old furniture in bad shape, sometimes even without water or bathroom. My husband always asks me why I’m smiling while watching the show. How not to smile, when I’m happy to see someone’s been helped to start over, and home is the biggest thing in that process.

Now, I want to feature here one of many makeovers, because I like it the most, the team was creative and created a youthful home for young girl, who lost her mother not so long ago. The apartment has 43m2 (462sqft) and the girl who lives there is amazing, brave, smart and adorable. Let’s see the makeover…

Balkan breeze Charming Belgrade apartment ** šarmantan beogradski stan

***(the post is too long for english and serbian version, so please use google translator to fully enjoy the interview and home tour) ***

A njen lični blog inspiracije treba obavezno "prelistati". Evo šta je ona rekla o svom šarmantnom stanu:

Ime:   Dragana Lazović
lokacija i veličina stana:   Beograd, Voždovac, 51 m2

Žute i plave boje.

 omiljeni dio:

šta kažu ukućani i prijatelji:

Ako imate dodatnih pitanja, slobodno pitajte u komentarima

{small space} Belgrade studio ** {mali stan} Garsonjera u Beogradu

Studio apartment in center of Belgrade measures 28sqm and it's for rent. The space is very well used, and the colour palette is just enough dinamic as it should be. Looks smart and comfortable. My favourite features are the kitchen/dining island and the olive tree in the corner.

{Balkan breeze} inspired by French style** inspirisano francuskim stilom

radni kutak

I could write a lot to introduce this home inspired by French romantic style, but the pictures speak louder than words. Obviously this is a corner decorated with lots of love and determination to create a space to fit. A number of lovely details found  their place in this small apartment, telling us about owner’s personality and lifestyle. I am convinced that everybody will find this atmosphere welcoming and pleasing

{Mogla bih se sada raspisati da predstavim dom inspirisan francuskim romantičnim stilom, ali slike govore više nego riječi. Očigledno je ovo kutak uređen sa puno ljubavi i odlučnosti da se kreira prostor baš po mjeri. Iako mali po kvadraturi, u njemu su našli svoje mjesto brojni detalji koji najviše govore o vlasnicima. Ubjeđena sam da ovakav ambijent svakome ostavlja utisak gostoljubivosti i ležernosti.}

before*after: kitchen & dining area / prije*posle: kuhinja i trpezarija

It's been a while since I promised before and after photos of my childhood home, and now it's the time to show you photos of kitchen/dining area. Changes are always welcome, especially in case when nothing has been changed for decades. I wish I could keep the old wooden furniture, but it wasn't an option as I live in a small apartment. All I can is to keep visualising how the table and chairs would look in crisp white, and commode in bright pink or some other intense colour.

{Mada sam poodavno obećala fotkice moje kuće iz djetinjstva, tek sada su došle na red. I to slikice kuhinje i trpezarijskog dijela. Možete i da uporedite kako je bilo nekad, a kako je sad. Promjene su uvijek dobrodošle, posebno u slučaju kada ništa nije mijenjano decenijama, pa vremenom gubi sjaj i draž. Voljela bih da sam mogla zadržati stari namještaj od drveta i preurediti ga po želji, ali to prosto nije bilo moguće jer živim u malom stanu. A zamišljam sto i stolice lakirane u bijelo a vitrinu i dugačku komodu vjerovatno u neku intenzivnu boju. Roze? uh, to bi izgledalo fantastično!}

balkan breeze...scandinavian breeze

It is time for new balkan breeze post...and this time we're visiting fabulously stylish and fresh apartment of Kristina Duran, interior designer from Zagreb, Croatia. She worked for years as creative director of Croatian interior magazine moja4zida, where she wrote with passion about design. Now Kristina and her friend and coworker Natasa Somek started with Miss Decor studio, making this world a prettier place to live in.
And without further ado...

novo4home3name and location: Kristina Duran, Zagreb, Croatia
square meters: 68
my style: Scandinavian, with lots of white and with interesting detailshome7 inspiration: homes and apartments I find through blogs, simple vintage details, flea markets, French windows, past times...
favorite element: I'm crazy about crystal chandeliers and candlesticks, I have lots of them and my friends are kidding me that in the past life I lived in a palace. Besides that, I love my bedroom. Although it's small, I think it's SO sweet and romantic.goran5 biggest challenge: being mom and doing what I love. and taking my dog for a walk ha hakuhinja4kuhinja5kuhinja3 what friend say: as I mentioned, my closest friends think I got lost in  time, for a few decades...that I am born in a wrong time period as I love vintage things. That's how I decorated my home, which also has a classy but dreamy touch. I respect minimalism but it's not my style.sman11novo3web1decorating advice: You'll never go wrong with white. Beside it's beautiful, it is easy to combine it with other colors plus it makes the space seem bigger. With two kids and a dog, I can tell you from my experience  it's not difficult to keep white space clean. Of course, you should find a sofa with removable/washable cover, but it's not a problem at all to keep white floor clean.kiki1kiki2spavaca1

Don't you just LOVE Kristina's apartment? It looks like scandinavian/french combination to me...and I ADORE it! Kristina lives there with her husband, two kids and adorable little dog named Gitica (as you've noticed, Gitica is quite a model).

Oh, I forgot to tell you...Kristina also blogs...her blog Miss Decor is one of my favorites. So, if you need a Scandinavian, French, romantic, dreamy INSPIRATION, you go check it out.

I know you enjoyed this tour...

until next balkan breeze
