One of the very few shows I like to watch on TV is the reality show similar to Extreme Home Makeover. It’s Serbian show “Radna akcija” with main aim to help people and families in need for functional, proper home. Those people usually live in extremely bad conditions, in cold homes, with mold or broken walls and ceilings, old furniture in bad shape, sometimes even without water or bathroom. My husband always asks me why I’m smiling while watching the show. How not to smile, when I’m happy to see someone’s been helped to start over, and home is the biggest thing in that process.

Now, I want to feature here one of many makeovers, because I like it the most, the team was creative and created a youthful home for young girl, who lost her mother not so long ago. The apartment has 43m2 (462sqft) and the girl who lives there is amazing, brave, smart and adorable. Let’s see the makeover…

Who doesn't love a good transformation? I do, but mostly the vision amazes me. Not many would choose to makeover this cabinet in that state, but look at the result. Who knew? At first it was blend and ordinary. It could be pretty with a bit of styling, but the best solution is total makeover. The layout is almost the same, except that niche is now filled with combination of white high cabinets and apple green wall cabinets mounted below the ceiling. Illuminated space in between is perfect for cookbooks and beautiful cookware. My favorite part is that breakfast bar on scrollable cabinets. So multifunctional! It can be worktop or eating area, it’s movable and it has plenty of storage – fantastic! Things that are used everyday are out on the open shelf, and there are also lovely stackable stools for additional seating or to help in reaching for high places. I find this kitchen clever and pretty, don’t you?
