end of October...

 This October was (still is) one of the longest months this year...for me. I was so thrilled about everything in October! I thought I will manage some time just for myself and this blog, but that didn't happened. I was re-positioned on my job and needed to adjust. My older boy went on vacation with my sister 500 km away, and I miss him so much. Can't wait to come home and give him a hug! Days are so long when we are not all together. I try to humor myself by looking at beautiful photos...this time, inspired by colours I see around me.

Paint at least a stripe in chalkboard paint. It looks interesting, doesn’t take up any space and you can always use it for recipes (like in the example), shopping or to do lists, and for occupying your kids in time of need…

Create a patio you can enjoy by adding comfortable furniture suiting your needs, bright coloured cushions, candle holders and vases, and even a few layered area rugs. I like outdoors cared with love, making accent on cozy and colourful.

Since I started working full time in a tourist agency last month, it seems like I don’t have much time for a blog. Although the job itself isn’t exhausting, I find myself too tired to even turn on the computer…but then I think of some beautiful  interiors I could miss, or brilliant ideas to simplify our life – and I’m filled up with positive, creative energy that makes me happy. Finally, I have a new computer since yesterday, is there anybody who can imagine my happiness...after using the huge one for nine and half years?!
I was quite busy for these two months (well, who wasn't?) and I won't bother you about that. Let's get right to my inspiration these days. Exposed brick :)

Totally fall/winter style. Painted or natural, it is unbelievable gorgeous! gereat focal point, makes a dramatic statement, adds a sense of warmth and texture to a space, and I love how the light can cast a range of shadows that make the most of the texture and colors in the brick.

 We all watch tv, but mostly women (don't mind me saying that) don't like when the TV dominates the room. I see on the web, there are homes with family or media rooms dedicated for this purpose. As most of the people live in small houses or apartments, they have to think of a solution to blend the tv seamlessly and still be able to watch it comfortably. I collected some inspiration for disguising the tv without spending much money or building new furniture.
Televizori su neminovnost, da ne kažem - neophodnost, u današnje vrijeme. Lično nisam vidjela dom bez tv, i mogu zaključiti samo da smo postali rob te čarobne spravice sa pokretnim slikama. U nekom svom tinejdžerskom dobu, kada je svašta tutnjalo na Balkanu, sa mamom i sestrama sam bojkotovala televizor nekoliko godina. Neopisivo smo se zbližile, i tada sam naučila da riječ 'dosadno' ne smije da postoji u riječniku. Sada, tv je prečesto uključen, i pošto znam da ga ne mogu izbaciti iz stana, mogu ga kamuflirati. Na internetu sam skupila nekoliko ideja za uspješno i povoljno kamufliranje televizora, a da se ne prave posebni ormarići sa vratima ili tajni prostori u zidu. Srećom, savremeni televizori se većinom montiraju na zid poput slike, a mogu čak i da izgledaju kao slika.

It's about time to share all those links I saved on my favorites bar ages ago. Today we'll enjoy this smart Japanese apartment designed based on the bento box (it's a Japanese lunch box with compartments for diferent food), as owners have many passions and needed much space to store everything that goes with them.

{stylish small} Amsterdam studio ** {mali stan} garsonjera u Amsterdamu

 You just have to love this smart little studio. It measures only 30m2 and it wasn't this functional before the home stylist came to help the owner conquering the clutter. Don't know about you, but I'm all into places like these, full of personality and living stuff. Minimalistic or cleared interiors are not inspiring for me. The thing is, how to have lots of things in your home and make them look good? all you need is a bit of imagination.
This studio is decorated with industrial seventies style in mind, and the separation of diferent living areas is well achieved yet still looking coherent - thanks to chosen colour palette. Neutral colour palette is used to unify a multi-use space. Several bookshelves served as storage for everything - for storing books in the living area, for plates and kitchen utensils, for wardrobe and shoes... So many play roles for simple bookshelf **
Kako da se nekom ne dopada ova garsonjera? Veličine samo 30m2, sada je mnogo funkcionalnija uz dobru strategiju iako ima isto stvari kao i prije. Vlasnica je svoj stil definisala kao industrijalizam sedamdesetih, te je s tim na umu dekorisana ova garsonjera. Stilistkinja je uspješno odvojila garsonjeru na dnevnu, trpezarijsku i spavaću zonu a pomoću neutralnih boja prostor djeluje mirnije uprkos mnoštvu stvari i detalja. Glavnu ulogu, odnosno više uloga igraju jednostavne police za knjige, koje su ovdje poslužile za odlaganje kako knjiga, tako i posuđa, garderobe, obuće...a služe i kao pregrade između zona. Jednostavnim rolo zavjesama može se odvojiti spavaća zona, a iste zavjese su iskorišćene i kao zastor na garderoberu kao zaštita od prašine a i pogleda.
