unexpected moment

You can't decide on shape of pendant? Why not having all of them...like in the photo above. Those three pendants tell a story with their shape. It seems to me like they are evolving from left to right...what do you think?

big ideas for small spaces

Paint at least a stripe in chalkboard paint. It looks interesting, doesn’t take up any space and you can always use it for recipes (like in the example), shopping or to do lists, and for occupying your kids in time of need…

polka dots

Enliven your neutral room with bold polka dot pattern on accent wall. Yellow is my favourite, but of course you can choose any combination you fancy. This happy tone of yellow energizes the space, but not overwhelming it because of plenty of white.

Another lovely idea, from the same house. More muted polka dot pattern in the white kitchen with bright pink accents. Beautiful!

random collection of inspirational images

Although I'm working on this lazy Sunday + holiday, I have some spare time for a quick post full of inspiration. Tiny lounge nook is calling me for reading or napping time (nap would be good!). Every part of it is beautiful - wall sconce, roman shade, brick wall, pattern on pillows and that cute little industrial table, awwww

{love this space} tiny kitchen nook

Sometimes some tiny spaces can turn out to be everyone’s favourite place in the house. Custom built storage bench and a table provide comfort for breakfast, coffee break or kids’ activity and studying.

true Spanish spirit

Today I bring you one outstanding home tour, full of hearth and personality. The owner is very talented and creative, making home decorating items out of fabric yarn. I guess my favourites are the white triangle bean bag and colourful storage baskets. Full house tour and an interview is on Bla*d but I found it via Styllia

{perfect home No. 34} Nordic maxi coloured

This lovely house features a different kind (my kind) of Nordic décor. It has a white background but it was only used to make the rest of the elements stand out. The huge blank canvas was filled with lots of colourful and vibrant details. Many different colors were combined but they were beautifully balanced. It’s interesting how each room or space has its own palette of colors. The kitchen is mostly white with black and ocher. Then the space continues into the living room where an entire wall was painted ochre. It was combined with turquoise and blue accents and a brown sofa and the contrast is quite beautiful. Adding purple to the palette starts in entryway and continues to the upstairs, where you climb on bright red stairs. Upstairs the palette is calmer, perfect for rest area. Exterior of the house is unspeakably lovely

{love this space} happy family space

I’m totally crazy about this place! Absolutely perfect composition of colors, shapes and textures. This open space in coastal home in Croatia is work of two famous creative minds – academic painter Saša Šekoranja and interior designer Dean Franić. I must add it’s like they get into people’s heads to understand their wants and needs – they create so different and versatile interiors. I would love to learn from designers like them.17108_299855336806511_881286313_n

how to style kitchen countertops

To write a post on this topic was on my mind lately, and while I searched for photos to illustrate my thoughts, I found very helpful article on The Everygirl I just have to share. Hope they don’t mind me sharing it, because there’s nothing to add or subtract.

artistic home

Some photos of this home you’ve surely seen on the web, and you’re probably amazed by the beauty of the every inch of it. Some people have a talent to turn everything ordinary into extraordinary, beautiful, artistic and breathtaking. The mix of clean lines and cluttered corners is in perfect balance. Everyday objects are perceived like art itself, and the result is home easy to live in and interesting to look at.

small eat-in kitchens ** male kuhinje sa trpezarijom

One of my resolution for this year is to finally change our eating habits. I want to cook most of the days (instead of my husband) and to bring some new, healthier meals on the table (less meat). So, no wonder I’m all into kitchens, breakfast corners and small dining areas. Since we have small eat-in kitchen I thought to bring up some photos of lovely ones. I love their casualty and simplicity

elegant white apartment ** elegancija u bijelom

The reason for second all white apartment today is to show how mostly the same features can create totally different style. Here again every big surface is white, with some high gloss finishes for reflection of light. Added color is even more subtle- light grey and creamy whites -to create elegant and sophisticated ambient.

subtle hue in 31m2 studio ** suptilne nijanse u garsonjeri od 31m2

Purified interior with simple forms and only essential furniture. In small open spaces like this, kitchen should blend in the rest of the room. Backsplash is an accent wall at the same time, providing depth in the all white room. Every big surface is white creating ethereal yet cozy place for living

glass kitchen backsplash ** staklo umjesto kuhinjskih pločica

If you think the tiles are a bit boring for the kitchen, opt for glass backsplash. It’s functional and effective solution, especially for small kitchens as it enlarges the room. I believe it’s much easier to clean without having to worry about grout. This is also a good solution for open kitchens, because it’s more modern and neutral way to blend them in the living room. The glass itself can be clear, frosted or colored (painted or printed). Somehow, I’ve never liked tiles, or most of them. Don’t like to see them on my walls or floors, and when I enter the bathroom tiled up to ceiling – I cringe. Anyway, if I get the chance to renovate my kitchen, the glass backsplash will be installed. Love the idea of wallpapering the wall behind the clear glass.

kitchen makeover ** preobrazba kuhinje

At first it was blend and ordinary. It could be pretty with a bit of styling, but the best solution is total makeover. The layout is almost the same, except that niche is now filled with combination of white high cabinets and apple green wall cabinets mounted below the ceiling. Illuminated space in between is perfect for cookbooks and beautiful cookware. My favorite part is that breakfast bar on scrollable cabinets. So multifunctional! It can be worktop or eating area, it’s movable and it has plenty of storage – fantastic! Things that are used everyday are out on the open shelf, and there are also lovely stackable stools for additional seating or to help in reaching for high places. I find this kitchen clever and pretty, don’t you?
