Thanks to my blogger friend Olga, I found out about this unusual home of an jewelry artist. Unusual because of the living room wall color. Most of the designers, especially trendsetters, would say that smudge wall color is big no-no as it always looks dirty and unpleasant. it’s not too pretty here, too…but it’s camouflaged by amazing furniture pieces and great color choices. The owner truly applied her knowledge of color and composition. The rest of the home is quite amazing…in strong color and pattern. Big style!

I'm smitten with this stylish small. It shows that you don't have to give up on your style no matter how small or big the room is. Just be smart about space planning. When you make a good plan, you're half way done. Write down the purpose of the room, your wants and needs, collect inspiration tearsheets out of magazines or create an inspirational folder on your computer choosing just photos that truly moves you.

After reading post about Paris on new-to-me Croatian blog about life, travel, great and not-so-great places to enjoy coffee ... I was thinking: Do I Want To Visit Paris? can you believe what am I asking myself? and the answer is WHO WOULDN'T?! I don't care it is way too expensive, crowded, chaotic...I would be smitten to go there
More than Paris, I would love to visit villages and small cities in France...to feel the true spirit of that incredible country. Someday I will go, and you will be amongst first to know :)

I have nothing more to add to this...except I would love to create something similar for my little boy. To be honest - he wouldn't care much about the looks, all he wants is big playing area...but I'd be extremely happy... Oh my

Do you think white is boring? Ok, I know everyone has a different taste, but let me show you how white can be interesting, especially during winter. Yes, it is the perfect color for summer, to cool it down…but in wintertime, we can feel like in the snow, yet so warm and cozy. First, some examples of warmer white living rooms, adding cream, pale yellow or light brown. Don’t forget to add texture when decorating in white – different materials and structures.

Some of you know how much I love windows, especially one with shutters. I have a huge collection of window photos,arts and prints. For me it represents open heart and open mind, look into the future, beyond boundaries. As a counterbalance, I’m attracted to old, vintage windows…and shutters. Have you heard about trullo? It is house with conical roofing, traditional for south-east Italy and may be found in towns Alberobello, Locorotondo, Fasano, Cisternino, Martina Franca and Ceglie Messapica. Trulli were generally constructed as storehouses, built without any cement. This style of construction is also prevalent in the surrounding countryside where most of the fields are separated by dry-stone walls (the same style of construction can be seen in my country too...and I am fascinated by its durability)
In Alberobello atop a trullo's cone there is normally a pinnacle, that may be one of many designs, chosen for symbolism. Additionally, the cone itself may have a symbol painted on it...which may include planetary symbols, the mallocchio (evil eye), the cross, a heart, a star ....

zesty beach home...

OMG... I love green...every shade of green I think. When recieved newsletter from RoomRemix blog, I just could not lift my jaw up after seeing this modernist beach house.

What a gorgeous palette, don't you think? Lime green, white and brown...with dashes of hot orange... so timeless if you ask me. So prefect for every season, it has the perfect balance of warm and cold colours (even if I know Maria says colours can't be desribed as warm or cold and we should look them in a context)

It's not easy to talk about african interior style, because it's meshup of different cultures of Middle East, Arabian,Portugal,Spain,France and England... In center of all these cultural influences is african tribal tradition, with it's beautiful simbols and elements celebrating the Earth, animals and overall life.
I can feel the rythm in every piece made by African origins.

monday home tour..Beth Armijo's apartment

Today, we're touring the home of Beth Armijo, very talented designer and owner of Armijo Design Group, who describes her work as fresh,classic and exquisite. Beth's lovely and colourful apartment was featured in Better Homes and Gardens online magazine in a begining of 2009, when I saved it in my inspirational folder.

I love her home because it's quite feminine and sophisticated in accessories, and again masculine in some elements like concrete pole in the living room, oversized lamp or the mirror in the dining room. I don't know if she lives there alone or with a partner, but this apartment nicely shows how to implement both feminine and masculine and still having a great design.
